What not to wear
Let's discuss, "what not to wear" and I don't mean the series on TLC. I do not consider myself an expert in fashion by any means. I do however know a thing or two about flattering clothing. I am a mother of two with a body that reflects the wear of these pregnancies. I know my fashion limits!
Showing a lot of skin is very much in fashion right now. As a fashionable observer, women seem to be wearing these barely there clothes no matter if they are flattering or most importantly, they fit. If you do not have the body for the latest fashion trends, do yourself a favor and remember the following: A style setter is someone who has confidence, mixes up complementary items that are flattering and is aware that leaving something for the imagination is paramount.
Last weekend I went to a concert at Magnectic Hill (Country Rocks the Hill). The fashion talk above is a direct result of going to "Country Rocks the Hill". The amount of fashion "don'ts" at this concert, I was beyond speechless. I am disappointed to report that the majority of fashion don'ts were from women.
Wearing bikini tops can be quite hip if you are at the beach or pool side. However, this outfit in front of 40,000 people just doesn't seem appropriate. Others wore shirts cut way beyond what would be considered a classy cleavage line. Another "don't" was overweight women wearing belly baring shirts. Let me put it this way, cinnamon rolls have less layers. Another fashion aspect I witnessed was that each individual has a wardrobe maturity. We've all seen women well in their 30's, 40's but still dressing like they did in high school or those who try to look more like a teeenager than parent. What's most disappoiniting is some women want attention so desperately they don't care what form it comes in.
Fashion success or failure is a reflection of our personality. If your not sure which category you fall into " the do" or "the don't" for heavens sake don't ask your friends or family. 9/10 times your family/ friends will lie through their teeth; they do not want to hurt your feelings. So do yourself a favor and tune into "What not to Wear" on TLC, just to be safe.
